Blind Diagnosis for Millimeter-Wave Large-Scale Antenna Systems

Millimeter-wave (mmWave) communication systems rely on large-scale antenna arrays to combat large path-loss at mmWave band. Due hardware characteristics and deployment environments, are vulnerable element blockages failures, which necessitate diagnostic techniques locate faulty elements for calibration purposes. Current require full or partial knowledge of channel state information (CSI), can be challenging acquire in the presence failures. In this letter, we propose a blind technique identify systems, does not any CSI knowledge. By jointly exploiting sparsity failure pattern, first formulate diagnosis problem as joint sparse recovery problem. Then, atomic norm is introduced induce over continuous Fourier dictionary. An efficient algorithm based alternating direction method multipliers (ADMM) proposed solve formulated Finally, performance evaluated through numerical simulations.
